| Church
Relations |

| To create and
increase active participation and volunteerism from churches
in our service area. (James, Johns, Wadmalaw, Younges &
Edisto Islands, Ravenel, Hollywood and Meggett) |
|
Construction
|
| MISSION: |
| Construct
a variety of decent and affordable houses, according to
approved SIHH building plans which meet or exceed all
applicable building codes and the SIHH annual build plan,
while utilizing volunteer labor in a manner which
exemplifies the gospel of Jesus Christ. |
|
Family Services
|
| MISSION: |
| Contribute
to improving the quality of life for Habitat families by
helping them succeed as homeowners, and by facilitating
access to a range of social services, including education,
child care, and job training. |
|
| Finance |
| MISSION: |
| Provide timely and
accurate fiscal reporting of all SIHH activities which meet
SIHH management, governmental and Habitat International
requirements. |
|
| Fundraising
|
| MISSION: |
| SIHH will solicit and
raise funds sufficient to build homes, in partnership with
God's people in need, to meet realistic construction goals
established by the SIHH Board of Directors. These
goals will be established on a fiscal year basis, but stated
to our constituents on a calendar year basis. Cost per
house must be established by the Board (at $50,000 each for
FY 2006). |
|
Grant/Legal
|
| MISSION: |
| To develop opportunities
for obtaining grant funds to meet specific organizational
needs. To identify and establish communications with
governmental organizations that deal with low-income housing
and related problems on Johns and Wadmalaw Islands. To
promote awareness of legal issues among SIHH board members
and staff relating to the policies and operations of the
corporation. |
|
| Public
Relations
|
| MISSION: |
| SIHH
will maximize favorable publicity through all facets of the
media in order to promote fundraising and volunteerism.
The primary objectives are to interest people to give their
time and funds to make decent housing a matter of community
consciousness and action through SIHH, and to create a
favorable image of SIHH so that people want to join and
support. |
|

determine strengths and weaknesses in the application and
approval process. |
